Brett Dennon, the founder of Weathervane Woodworks – is a man with a heart full of love for his family, his craft, and his country. Not only does he pour his passion into creating beautiful wood pieces, but he also wears his Veteran status and business owner title with a sense of pride that can’t be matched. It’s clear that Brett puts his heart and soul into everything he does.

My Woodworking Process
A New Beginning
Wood is sourced from several places. I partner with local suppliers, cut logs into lumber, and at times have torn down old barns and salvaged the wood. By honoring the wood's natural beauty I give the tree a new life that will last for many years to come.
The Build
Next, I lay out slabs to find the perfect orientation and begin chalking out design elements. Flattening, shaping, and smoothing each rough slab is done with various power and hand tools. Since every slab is unique, I adjust the design based on its grain pattern and shape.
Finished with premium materials.
I apply best in class finishes and details. These finishes are low maintenance and will help to keep each table looking beautiful for years to come.
Final Details
Once the finish is completed, I attach any remaining hardware, such as table leg brackets or decorative accents. A final inspection is performed, ensuring that the table meets our expectations in terms of aesthetics, functionality, and craftsmanship.
